EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL Hillview School for Girls has long been recognised for the high standards of education and success across the Performing and Visual Arts. Students access a wide range of additional opportunities, beyond the main exam subject, supporting the creation of a personalised professional portfolio that opens doors in the future. However, 2016 sees formalised “Super-Curricular” opportunities across the breadth of all courses within the highly successful Sixth Form. Headteacher Hilary Burkett commented: “Super-Curricular opportunities have been developed to extend students’ learning beyond classroom and to connect to industry. Our students will leave Hillview and need to be competitive in gaining university places and jobs within a highly challenging employment market. Our aim is to enable them to stand out from the crowd and gain invaluable experiences to enable them to be successful not just in qualifications but in securing top-level employment in the future.” The extension to the subject offer is further supported by the breadth of enrichment and personal mentoring that each student is able to access, ranging from a continuation Maths course, sports sessions, Arts Award, mock interviews with Tonbridge Rotary Club and developing leadership skills. Opportunities available can be found in the course guide at www.hillview.kent.sch.uk/sixth-form/. Leather cape designed by Young Fashion Designe
