smooth curled brush blow dry, finished with straightening irons and some rather nice Redken serum to seal the finish. The end result was a sleek, smooth, glossy straight blow dry that not only survived the afternoon’s autumn wind but also lasted for a good three days afterwards, and my hair was so revived after my treatment that three separate people asked if I’d had it cut and coloured – result! Celebrating its 25th birthday but with no sign of resting on its laurels and with a clear intention to train its next generation of staff, here’s to the future of Harrison’s Hair Team! After my treatments, I was able to spend a few minutes with Sue to find out more about the team, their specialties and what the future has in store… How has the business evolved in the last 25 years? I think the key to our business is ensuring the whole team has continued training, enabling us to stay ahead of fashion trends and the latest styling techniques, as well as keeping the salon fresh by updating it regularly. Client loyalty is also key, with many new clients coming through recommendation. We also try to promote the business through communications channels such as social media. What are your specialties? Our team comprises professionals in all aspects of hairdressing, from great cutting skills to colour technicians and hair extension specialists. We also pride ourselves in providing high quality wedding services, from planning the beauty elements to fabulous hair and make-up on the day. Another key element is that we also work hard to take away the stress from the bridal party. Congratulations on your 25th anniversary how did Harrison’s Hair Team become established? What makes your salons/treatments different? I feel that our guests should probably answer that one, but we are an established brand, which hopefully means that whichever salon they’re visiting the experience should be consistent and our guests hopefully feel they can trust any of © Scott Davey / SDImaging Thank you! I was working in the industry and some clients of mine, who were already established at Evegate, approached us encouraging us to join the complex as they said they would love a good hairdresser at the business centre. 77 the team to give them a high-quality, professional service. We also encourage our guests to “free roam”, which essentially means that rather than worrying if they would like to try a different stylist, we embrace it. Where do you see Harrison’s Hair Team in the next five years? Hopefully even stronger; we have an amazing team of very hard working, committed and passionate individuals who pride themselves in staying ahead of trends and taking pride in making their clients feel good and want to return. I am so proud of the whole team’s dedication and hope that one day they will run Harrison’s without me.
