BUSINESS
KENT BUSINESS PROFILE:
insideKENT interviews Matthew Coppard, Senior Web and
Graphics Designer of Johnsons Garden Buildings
Johnsons seems to have
expanded a great deal in recent
years. What do you credit for this
continued growth?
In my opinion, gardens are now
increasingly being seen as an
extension to the home and I believe
this has led to the apparent rising
trend of modern garden buildings.
Alongside this, we have made big
efforts in the dressing of our cabins
around our nine display villages
across Kent and now Essex. This
has helped fill our potential
customers with inspiration and ideas
as to what can be accomplished
with a log cabin.
What does Johnsons Garden
Buildings specialise in?
Johnsons has been specialising in
supplying and installing high-quality
log cabins and garden buildings for
the last 15 years. We pride ourselves
on providing an outstanding product
and service with an abundance of
choice. With over 120 models and
sizes we would like to think we
accommodate to all requirements
and budgets.
Are garden buildings a difficult
product to advertise?
I don’t think they are; for myself it’s
all about the lifestyle and letting our
potential customers’ imaginations
run wild with what can be achieved
with the extra space. Whether this
be a summer house, home office,
home gym or a recent favourite, a
‘man cave’. The possibilities are
truly endless with what you can use
yours for.
I see you sell log cabins as a
package, how does that work?
We have four different packages:
silver, gold, platinum and diamond.
Each package provides varying
benefits such as roof and floor
insulation, laminate flooring, and
electrical installations but the one
constant always being that we
provide full construction on all of
our log cabin packages. So, simply
put, choose your model, size and
the appropriate package to suit
your needs and we will do the rest
for you!
Can a customer alter the
standard design or package of
their cabin?
Of course, we choose the package
system for our cabins to produce
a hassle-free experience with no
hidden costs. For those looking for
a more bespoke building or a
package tailored to their own needs
we offer a free made-to-measure
service, allowing customers to have
their very own unique cabin – from
choosing the size and
where the doors and
windows are positioned
through to planning any
internal walls and door
openings.
I like the idea, but am not
sure a log cabin is for me,
how would I be sure?
One of our main priorities
when supplying a log cabin
to a customer is that it is
100% fit for purpose. We offer a free home-site survey to all of our customers
to talk through the process and make sure that no questions are left unturned. This way hopefully they can be sure a Johnsons log cabin is the
right choice for them.
What advantage would a log cabin have over a home extension?
If you’re aware of the average cost of a home extension, you’ll be aware
that creating extra space in your home is becoming an extremely expensive
commodity. We like to think that a log cabin can create a brilliant solution
to this. Not only can it match the size of space created by a home extension
but can be achieved at a fraction of the cost. Alongside this our own expert
installers can usually construct a log cabin within just 2 days and the majority
of buildings do not require any planning permission at all.
What set’s Johnsons apart from the competition?
Without reeling off a list of specifications or particular techniques as for what
makes us in my opinion, amongst the best suppliers of log cabins in the
UK, I would encourage anyone looking to purchase a log cabin to come
to one of nine display villages across Kent and Essex. Look, feel and touch
the quality for yourself, and you’ll understand why Johnsons is a brilliant
choice for your log cabin.
