Oh , how I do love October . Each month has its attributes – December has Christmas , April has springtime and flowers , August has sunshine ( sometimes ) – but October has crunchy leaves , warm jumpers , and the best part : Halloween ! My inner child can ’ t help but put on fancy dress , have a scary movie marathon and eat sweets ‘ til she ’ s sick to her stomach . Bliss .
Perhaps there are a few of you out there who like Halloween as much as I do ? If you ’ re a kindred spirit , start on page 82 for our special Visit Kent feature , which includes plenty to do this Halloween , and then head over to page 102 for insideKENT ’ s listing of top Halloween events and attractions . You ’ ll also find Halloween-inspired fashion starting on page 67 , and some grown-up spooky décor on page 130 .
As soon as you ’ re done pumpkin carving and eating your fill of skull-shaped chocolate , winter will be on its way . Love it or hate it , you ’ ll have to keep warm this season , and the best way is by curling up in front of a fire . These days , you don ’ t even need a chimney !
