I ’ m always torn when September rolls around ; on the one hand my favourite season is upon us , but on the other the glorious summer is coming to an end . I ’ ve made sure to enjoy every moment of the sunshine these past few months , so I ’ m good and ready for the impending drop in temperature .
We ’ re kicking off the new season with all things cosy and comfort – from our favourite curl-up-on-the-sofa novels ( p19 ), to candlelit romantic restaurants ( p35 ), to chilly weather fashion ( p77 ).
I don ’ t know about you , but when the leaves start falling from the trees , I head straight for my kitchen to cook up something delicious ; there ’ s no better excuse to eat than when the weather isn ’ t behaving ! Just in time for the new season of The Great British Bake Off , we ’ re tempting your tastebuds this month with a brilliant baking feature ( p47 ), full of recipes and products to satisfy your inner chef .
