FOOD+DRINK THE CORNER HOUSE OPENS ITS DOORS TO CANTERBURY DINERS The award-winning team at The Corner House opened the doors of its Canterbury restaurant on 1st July. The much anticipated restaurant serves the very best of what Kent has to offer – from Romney Marsh Lamb to locally caught seafood. Chef proprietor Matt Sworder hopes to repeat the success of his restaurant in Minster, which won the Taste of Kent Awards Best Restaurant 2015 and is listed in both the Good Food and Michelin Guides. Matt is passionate about great ingredients and set up his first restaurant in his home town of Minster, Kent to celebrate the best of what Kent has to offer. Prior to setting up The Corner House, Matt worked in top London restaurants and trained under celebrated chefs such as Adam Byatt and Anthony Demetre. As in the Minster restaurant, sharing dishes for two or four people is a constant feature on the menu and bar snacks will be available at lunch and dinner. Throughout the summer months, diners can also enjoy a BBQ platter, a great value lunch or dinner for couples and families. The restaurant, located at 1 Dover St, Canterbury, has a bar area, seating for 50 diners, and three en suite guest rooms upstairs. It is just a few minutes from the centre of Canterbury, making it ideal for those who want to extend their stay in the city. The interior has been sympathetically restored by architects Del Rezio HQ to provide relaxed and characterful surroundings for diners. As well 50 as fantastic local food, cooked to perfection, customers can also enjoy an award-winning range of local beers from The Ramsgate Brewery, and local wines from The Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden.
