Win a Delights of Ramsgate Experience!
A Ramsgate Town Council regeneration initiative, Active Ramsgate,
has launched two canoe trails encouraging canoeists to come to the
area and experience Ramsgate from a completely new perspective.
There’s a self-guided route for more experienced
canoeists which starts at Marina Esplanade in
Ramsgate and ends two miles later in the seaside
bay of Broadstairs. It’s a great route that takes you
right past the famous white cliffs.
Then there’s a guided route which takes 2-3 hours
through a mixture of open sea and river, from Western
Undercliffe through Pegwell Bay National Nature
Reserve to the mouth of the River Stour; a unique
opportunity to spot wetland birds and seals. This small
group guided paddle is led by Thanet Diving and
Watersports and Canoe Wild, who also hire out
equipment to visiting canoeists or those who don’t
have their own.
Ramsgate’s new canoeing guide is free to download
from the Active Ramsgate website –
www.ramsgatetown.org/activeramsgate and includes
details of each trail, how to get in touch with the
guided trail organisers and the points of interests
along each route.
To celebrate the launch of these trails, Active Ramsgate is running a competition to give
you the chance to experience the delights of Ramsgate by canoe. One person will win for
