WHF BIG CAT SANTUARY
Open days 21-24 July
WHF Big Cat Sanctuary is a charity, hidden in the Kent countryside in the
village of Smarden. A 34-acre site, home to over 50 cats from the smallest
in the world, the Rusty Spotted cat; to the largest, the Amur tiger; to the
most endangered, the Amur leopard.
The foundation’s primary objective is the breeding of endangered cats
as part of the European Endangered Species Breeding Program, as well
as offering sanctuary to older cats, who are either simply in need of homes
or retiring from zoos or circus environments.
The charity operates by way of personal big cat experiences including
big cat encounters, overnight big cat safari experiences in their luxurious
African lodges, individual and group photography days, adoptions and even
corporate events. All
experiences need to be
pre-booked, details can
be found on the website.
The centre takes
pride in delivering fully
immersive, personal and
amazing experiences that
will leave any big cat
enthusiast with memories
to last a lifetime.
The annual open
days this year are 21st to
24th July. These are fun days for all the family – come along to see the
cats, falconry displays, archery, bouncy castles, face painting, art and craft,
BBQ, ice cream and lots more. Tickets must be booked online in advance,
