This May half term
Smallhythe Place in Kent
is hosting a variety of
Shakespeare-themed
activities. Visitors will be
able to follow a trail
around the property to
discover more about
England's most famous
playwright, or pick up a
puzzle sheet to complete
themed word searches,
crosswords, quizzes and
colouring. There will be Venetian-style mask making in the garden so
budding actors and actresses can take home their own Shakespearean
style prop. There's also plenty to see and do in the house, with costumes
and props on display that were once worn by famous actress Ellen Terry.

Strikingly individual, twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid have over the
years enjoyed huge successes across the globe and in April last year
released their 10th album on the Cooking Vinyl label. They have carved a
niche for themselves where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide as the
emotional honesty, political fire, wit and sing-along raucousness of their
songs and their extensive touring has enlightened and entertained fans new
and old.

The annual
popular Open
Gardens
weekend
returns in
2016. The
historic and
beautiful
private
gardens of
Canterbury
Cathedral will
be open to all
on the
weekend of the 28th and 29th May 2016. This annual event, which has
been held for over 10 years and run in connection with the National Garden
Scheme (NGS), unlocks several private and secret gardens within the
Cathedral grounds; and in the process, raises money for charity. The twoday event is a must for anyone who loves and appreciates the skill and art
of gardening; the talented Cathedral gardeners will be on hand all weekend
to answer queries and have plants for sale.
From 9am. Price: £17
