A Walk In Appledore
Take a picturesque walk through peaceful Appledore and take in the gently rolling
countryside which surrounds this historic village. Appledore boasts a rich history
which is said to date back as far as 892. Your walk will lead you along part of the
Saxon Shore Way through the patchwork landscape of the Romney Marsh and then
to explore the captivating history of the nearby Royal Military Canal. Enjoy panoramic

This gentle walk begins and ends outside the
Black Lion Pub. The pub has undergone
transformation in its long history in Appledore,
having been known as the Red Lion during its
two hundred years in the former location of the
forge opposite. Today this free house offers a
warm welcome and a selection of seasonal real
ales and delicious locally sourc
