Eastwell Manor
It’s no coincidence that residents at Eastwell Manor often feel like royalty – the
Jacobean manor house has had years of experience in looking after regal guests.
In the late 19th century, Eastwell Manor was the
residence of Queen Victoria’s second son, Prince
Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh and his wife the Grand
Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia and two
of their daughters, Princess Marie (Queen Marie
of Romania) and Princess Beatrice were born at
Eastwell.
Now owned by the Parrett family, the four
red star country house hotel and spa retains its
original grandeur and glamour. Individually
designed, en-suite bedrooms and suites (some
with four poster beds) offer space, elegance, and
glorious views, while the 1, 2 or 3 bedroom
cottages in the converted Victorian stables are
perfect for groups of friends or families, each
having a shared living room with kitchen and
dining facilities.
Residents have complimentary use of the
extensive facilities including the two 20-metre,
heated swimming pools (outdoor pool in summer
months), steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi,
hydrotherapy pool, TechnoGym, tennis court and
petanque pitches. The Beauty Spa, Dreams,
recognised by Guinot (Crown Salon), Clarins
(Gold Salon) and Jessica (Fellowship Award),
offers individual treatments as well as residential,
day and evening packages.
The Pavilion Restaurant is a relaxed, informal
dining experience with a varied menu available
throughout the day and regular live music including
88
jazz on Sundays. The Times rates the more formal
Manor Restaurant the 5th Most Romantic
Restaurant in Britain.
Eastwell Manor is also perfect for conferences
and private parties, with a licence for weddings
and civil ceremonies in three beautiful, oakpanelled rooms in the manor house and in the
walled Maid’s Garden.
With its period charm, award-winning
cuisine, regal surroundings, warming log fires,
high quality of service and some of the finest spa
and leisure facilities in England, Eastwell Manor
is hard to equal.
