KENT CRISPS LAUNCH
IN TESCO STORES IN THE
SOUTH EAST
The Michelin-listed restaurant, The Ambrette, will serve up gold, frankincense
and myrrh for diners this December as part of a new eight-course Christmas
menu, which features turkey marinated in pine needles and edible Christmas
cards.
The renowned ability of head chef Dev Biswal to combine flavours, textures
and techniques from a range of different cuisines will be showcased in the
dishes of sustainably sourced local produce, fragranced and infused with
festive flavours.
Recently named Kent's Chef of the Year, Dev Biswal said: “There are so
many dull and boring festive dinners out there that people tend to dread
the season of excess with its undercooked spuds and overcooked sprouts.
I want to change all that and bring family and friends together around a
unique, entertaining and, most importantly, delicious Christmas meal that
guests will remember for years to come.”
n response to wider consumer demand extending beyond Kent’s borders,
Kent Crisps 150g share bags will be available in 53 Tesco stores across
the South East of England from 23rd November 2015.
Kent Crisps have seen growth in sales of 42% in the 12 months following
a successful rebrand in 2014 and are now seeking to respond to demand
by increasing the product availability to the consumer. Simon Wingfield
from the Tesco Local Sourcing Team said, “Customer demand is of prime
importance to us and it is the request for local products that has driven the
decision for Tesco to stock Kent Crisps.”
After an opening glass of mulled wine scented with myrrh, diners will be
served a plate of gold-coated mini samosas, followed by a cocktail of jumbo
Indian Ocean tiger prawns marinated in rosemary and frankincense, which
has a spiced balsamic taste.
The main event will be a ballotine of free range bronze turkey marinated in
the minty, fresh flavours of Christmas tree pines, served with locally sourced
trimmings and homemade cranberry sauce. For more info or to book, visit
www.theambrette.co.uk.
Kent Crisps 150g will initially be available in Tesco stores in three flavours:
