I have to say, whilst I thought I knew every nook
and cranny at Bluewater, we did chance upon the
new Hyundai store; (I know – yawn – a car
showroom?) but the staff were so nice and incredibly
helpful. The store is super cool, and even for me,
Mrs 'I don’t know one car from another', I actually
left feeling like I wanted one – AND they'll even
service my car whilst I shop!
I often struggle when writing this not to sound like
a female Jeremy Clarkson, always having a moan
about something, but last weekend I really did lose
it – and nearly caused Dom to file for a divorce. I
ordered some shoes online for my friend Jen’s
wedding and they didn’t arrive in time. You should
have seen me flapping about the night before, rollers
in and tan developing, hoping/praying that even
though it was 9pm, a courier might still knock at
the door! I’d tried every option in my own wardrobe,
and even convinced myself that if you squint hard
enough, orange and red could look similar/match.

By the morning, no courier had arrived; the poor
children got the majority of my stress as I was
rushing around trying to get them sorted to stay at
my mum’s, whilst trying to find a replacement pair
I could pop in and pick up. I ended up clicking and
reserving about eight pairs from John Lewis and
running in to grab them on the way to the
ceremony. Talk about last minute! Luckily, we made
it in time and the shoes matched perfectly. I was
fine – the rest of the family was not. I got the silent
treatment.

We’re going away next month and it’s the first
holiday in a long time that I feel really prepared for.
We’ve found a gorgeous villa through James Villas
at Bluewater; they’re so good in there, and really
helpful. I bought most of the kids’ stuff when we
went away at Easter, so I only really needed to pick
up a couple more ‘beachy’ items for this one. I got
them some new towels and sandals each (their feet
grow so fast?) and just picked Dom up some
swim shorts. I really can’t wait for some sun – I just
hope it decides to shine. It would make a nice
change for my tan to be natural for once!
