Dover Music Festival Create Festival Dover Music Festival // 17-19 July Broadstairs’ Folk Week // 7-14 Aug With acts such as Toploader, Fleetwood Bac, and Electric River, you know that the Dover Music Festival is all about quality and an exceptional day (or days!) out. With food and drink, a fun, party atmosphere, and even a playground for the little ones, this annual event is betting bigger and better every year. A three-day ticket is £35, and a one-day ticket is £15. All events are included in the ticket price (£195 without camping, £245 with camping, and discounts for children) and under 7s go free, so why not make a family outing out of this superb event? Acts this year include Barry Goodman, Belshazzar’s Feast, The Hotfoot Specials, Kate Rusby, and Maia. It’s about combining passions into one great music festival, and it includes some stupendous acts such as The Scorpions, Greg Allman, Camel, and Marillion. As well as these fabulous musicians, there is much more besides including many more musicians and groups, a brilliant beer tent, and fine food. There is even the chance to try out glamping with the special accommodation package. A standard ticket is £110, but if you want to be treated like a VIP, there are upgrades available (from £199). Mote Park, Maidstone www.ramblinmanfair.co.uk Hevy Music Festival // 14-15 Aug The Hevy Music Festival is all about rock, rock, and more rock, with classic acts and newcomers welcome. The stellar line up for 2015 includes Ignite, A Wilhelm Scream, Monuments, Up River, Youth Man, and Thrice, and plenty more. Tickets (priced at £59 to £89, and for over 14s only) include entrance to Port Lympne Animal Park, which makes this a fun, fascinating, and rocking festival event. Port Lympne, Aldington Road, Lympne CT21 4PD www.hevyfest.com Create 2015 // 26 Jul The Vicar’s Picnic 2015 // 28-29 Aug 2015 is the 20th anniversary of this superb free music festival, which sees around 13,000 visitors annually. Each year there is a packed programme of acts, from folk, rock, spoken word and outdoor theatre, all going to make the South East’s biggest free music festival. Although the 2015 line up is still to be announced, 2014 saw Nizlopi headlining. Alongside the music there will be a hog roast, beer tent, bungee run, land train, market stalls, and face painting!
