COMPETITION win with biddenden vineyards or godinton house Godinton House Godinton House is one of the most important and fascinating houses in Kent. From its medieval origins, many generations of Tokes and subsequent owners have embellished and added to the house to achieve today's result: a charming historic residence packed with varied styles, tastes and furnishings from the 14th century up to the present day. 13 acres of fabulous gardens complement the magnificent Jacobean house. Terraced lawns ornamented with topiary lead through herbaceous borders to a large formal lily pond, intimate Italian garden, and large walled garden with a collection of delphiniums, potager, cut flowers and an iris border. Three greenhouses hold exotics, alpines and ferns. Kent’s original vineyard, Biddenden Vineyards, was established in 1969 and is situated in the heart of the Garden of England. Biddenden not only produces award-winning wine, but also a range of ciders and farm-pressed juices from locally sourced apples. The vineyard shop sells all of Biddenden's own products, which are available for tasting, and stocks a large range of local produce, including chutneys from Headcorn, beers and cheeses from Canterbury, and gin from Marden. Biddenden Vineyards also produces its own beef – Gribble Bridge – named after the country lane on which the vineyard is situated. You'll have a chance to meet many of these producers at Biddenden’s food and drink event, Taste the Best of Produced in Kent, on Sunday 14th 2015.
