Trilby Tour // Entries in by 30 Apr
It’s back! The Kent regional final of the famous
William Hunt Trilby Tour is returning to Tudor
Park, Marriott Hotel and Country Club in
Bearsted, this summer. Once again, the fourstar hotel, with its 18-hole championship golf
course, has been chosen as a key venue for
one of the most televised golfing events of
the year.
The amateur golf event, which will be
played in front of Sky TV cameras and seen
by millions of Sky Sports viewers, was started
in 2007 by golf aficionado and Saville Row designer, William Hunt, who
wanted to give players from all walks of life the chance of hitting the big
time. Amateurs from all over the world come together to compete in Pro
conditions, under the pressures of an international televised event.
The final entry conditions for Trilby Tour is open to any male golfer
aged over 18 who holds a current handicap issued by a CONGU affiliated
golf club. You must hold a handicap of 18 or better and must provide proof
(handicap certificate that is no more than 14 days old) of your handicap on
the day of your chosen tournament. And you must wear a trilby hat during
play (only for final).
Price: £275 per entry.

Here in Kent, we
are fortunate to be
surrounded by
some fantastic
local produce. The
chefs at Chilston
Park Hotel have taken great pleasure in scouring the local markets to bring
you some of these products, which have been transformed into wonderful
classic English dishes. The evening includes a glass of local sparkling wine,
a five-course taster menu, and English wines to complement each dish.
7pm. Price: £75 per person (£120 per person if including an
overnight stay).

La Traviata
// 28 Apr
Ellen Kent's opera
is coming to Kent
in April with an
amazing
production of La
Traviata. The tour
itself has been hard
to organise
because
preparations in
Ukraine were overtaken by the fighting, making it a battle to get the sets
and costumes out of the area, as well bring the cast together. But in the
best theatrical cliché, the show must go on! La Traviata is one of the most
popular love stories of the 19th century, with sumptuous sets and costumes.
As always, local youngsters and adults from drama schools in the area will
join the cast on stage.
7.30pm. Price: £21.40-£36.60.
