• FOLLOW KAT THROUGH 2015 AS SHE JUGGLES FAMILY, FASHION, FRIENDS AND STAYING FABULOUS WITH TWO KIDS UNDER 10! • The hubby did well this Valentine’s Day! He truly spoilt me and treated me to some amazing new makeup, which was such a surprise (as you know I’d already mentally prepared myself for something scented). However, the pessimist in me is now wondering whether it was all a ploy to butter me up ahead of Mother’s Day – why is it that even though I’m a mother, I have to buy gifts for two others? My own I can understand, but I always have to choose for Dom’s mum too, which defeats the object if you ask me! Kat talk s Day an Mother's d 'that' b achieving ikini b ody... Liz Earle Colour Healthy Glow Powder Blush £16.50, John Lewis Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara £25, John Lewis As much as I’m a sucker for a good gift, I think Mother’s Day is more about spending time with the family. I never really get one-on-one time with my mum as the kids are always around and even when they’ve gone to bed, Dom’s usually hovering so I can’t chat to her as I’d like to. That’s why this year I’ve decided to take her out for the whole day and really spoil her. We’re booked in to the TrueskinMedispa for one of their spa packages in the afternoon; it’s such a great deal because you get a back, neck and shoulder massage, an express facial, a foot or hand massage and a scalp massage all for £120 for two! There’s fruit and herbal tea as well, which I think is a nice touch. We’re booked in for 4pm, which means we’ve got enough time for a nice lunch and a glass of something without being too full for a massage; there’s nothing worse than having a deep tissue straight after a big meal! I’ve reserved us a table at ASK Italian for lunch as they do some really nice ‘light bite’ options, and their bruschetta is mum’s favourite. I really can’t decide what to get Dom’s mum; she’s so picky I know she’d just return anything we got her anyway, and she and Dom aren’t exactly close so a ‘day out’ present wouldn’t go down too well with my other half! I’m thinking of getting her something fun from the kids, like a trip to the IMAX and then a Bluewater gift card. That way she gets to spend some time with Jake and Ella and can pick whatever she likes from Bluewater as a present from all of us; there’s so much choice, even she’ll be able to find something she likes. 80
