TWILIGHT PAMPERING AT
Eastwell Manor
The new year always heralds a raft of best-intentioned resolutions. For many, getting
fit, losing weight or finding that dream job tops the list, but this time around mine was
all about prioritising some precious 'me time'. BY SAMANTHA G
My aim was to find the opportunity for some
much-needed R&R, and perhaps a little bit of
pampering along the way. However, I know only
too well that taking time out of everyday life in
this 'time-poor era' is a wish too far. That's why

own experience, and it was to this end that my
guest and I embarked upon our own handpicked
treatments and slipped away into our pampering
bliss.
On arrival at The Pavilion – home to Eastwell
Manor's Dreams Beauty Salon and Spa – guests
are settled into the lounge, presented with hot
drinks and cookies, and given a schedule for the
evening ahead. The latter consists of either one
or two treatments, ample time to use the spa,
and a two-course evening meal.
This treatment utilised an amazing natural kiwi
body scrub and softening silky body polish by
Guinot. Gemma ensured that almost every inch
of my (sensitive) skin was scrubbed and polished
to perfection, and in doing so left me with not
only silky, smooth, strokeable skin, but also the
beginnings of a relaxed and rested body and
mind – all in perfect timing for my next treatment,
the Dry Floatation Bed.
Heading into the changing rooms, I was pleased
to find a robe, towel and slippers awaiting my
arrival in a designated locker. And after a swift
change, it was time to hit the spa!
My guest and I took full advantage of the 20metre heated pool, the massaging water jets of
the therapy pool, and the Jacuzzi, sauna and
steam room facilities – all of which are set against
the Roman-inspired pillars, murals and stunning
décor.
Soon it was time to begin the next element of
our pampering evening and we ascended the
stairs that lead to the tranquil haven of the Dreams
Beauty Salon and Spa.
One of the pleasantly surprising elements of the
Twilight Pamper Evening is the range of treatments
that you can choose from to tailor-make your
Having been greeted by my professional and
friendly therapist, Gemma, I was led to one of
the 15 luxurious treatment rooms to begin my
first choice, the Full Body Scrub.
Heading into the flotation room, Gemma
proceeded to wrap me in heated towels and
what can only be described as a heavy deflated
lilo – thankfully, at this point, the water began to
flow, the weight lifted, and suddenly I became
ensconced in a floaty warm haven of pleasure.
Staggeringly, 30 minutes of Dry Floatation is
recognised to be the equivalent of up to four
hours of sleep! Gentle knocking brought me
around from my relaxation cocoon and reminded
me that my guest would be waiting, as would
our evening meal.
A quick change later, I found my guest – also
relaxed following a combined Head, Neck,
Shoulder and Back massage – sat at one of the
tables in the Pavilion Restaurant.
Twilight guests are able to choose two courses
from a set menu, which offers a nice selection
of fish, meat and vegetarian options. While my
guest enjoyed slow-cooked Kentish Beef and
creamed potatoes, I opted for salmon paired
with crushed potatoes. Dessert was a decadent
and delicious chocolate and hazelnut mess,
served with honeycomb ice cream.
Relaxed, recharged and satisfied just a mere
matter of hours after our arrival, we departed
guilt-free, and with a big fat tick in the 'me-time'
box.
Twilight Pamper Evenings are offered from 3pm
every Thursday and Friday.
