ARTS+ENTERTAINMENT fine arts cont. PHOTOGRAPHY COMPUTER GRAPHICS Ian Hufton has won awards for his magical photography. He has his own unique way of processing the images he takes, and is proud to be part of the Kentish landscape himself. This photograph is entitled A New Dawn. Nigel Wallace’s love of Kent is obvious; you simply need to look at his beautiful drawings to see it. There are over 200 different images of Kent in this artist’s vast collection, each one as lovely as the next. This image is called 1950’s Margate, and features computer graphics using a drawing tablet. www.nwfineart.co.uk www.ianhuftonphotography.co.uk DRAWING Jerry Vaughan deliberately creates drawings that are not like photographs – he wants the essence of the medium to stand out, and he doesn’t want it to pretend to be anything other than it is. And this means that his work is unique and exceptional. The work pictured is of Wheelers, Whistable. www.pencildrawingsketches.co.uk CERAMICS POSTER ART Mary McFadden has honed her skills since being a freelance artist in the 1990s, and now has her own unique style when it comes to fascinating and beautiful ceramics. She is taking part in the Wrotham Fine Arts Festival from 8th-10th May. James Cassidy has an exhibition of over 50 pieces of his work running at The Grand on the Leas in Folkestone until 10th May. It consists of beautiful Giclee diamond-dusted canvas prints from the They Dreamed their Dreams series, and a stunning collection of poster art created using digital manipulation. This piece of her art is entitled Tall Meadow Jugs. They are handmade earthenware ceramics, made using a collage of leaves and grass found while on country walks in Kent. She uses up to four glazes on each jug, making each one unique. This piece is called Krishna Rose. www.facebook.com/James-Cassidy-Art www.marymcfaddenceramics.co.uk 22
