While I was there, I popped into House of Fraser and I
may or may not have found this Biba blue fringed
clutch bag (£115) for myself. Isn’t it amazing? I’ve been
trying to work out how I can subtly hint to Dom that it’s
the perfect gift for Valentine’s, but I know him too well
and he’ll definitely opt for smellies, as per usual. Although
to be fair, this Chanel No. 5 perfume (100ml, £96)
wouldn’t be badly received!
I think men are so much harder to buy for on Valentine’s
Day. I never know what to get Dom (he’s so picky
anyway), but the Valentine’s stuff is mostly just novelty
boxers or silly socks and stuff, whereas I would like to
treat him to something nice. I spent ages in House of
Fraser at Bluewater the other day and fell in love with
these Simon Carter rope ball cufflinks (£25), but I need
to have a rummage at home and see how many pairs
he still has. I might actually get him a nice spring coat
(does that put us in the 'you’ve obviously been together
for years' bracket?). We’re going to Centre Parcs in April
and I'm thinking it might still be a bit rainy, so he’ll need
something lighter. I’ve got my eye on this one from
Barbour (£200), but he likes to think he’s a bit of a mod
so I'm not sure if this alternative Barbour (£150) option
may be better. I’m going to just Click and Reserve
everything I’ve seen and then decide when I pop in at
the weekend.
Eeeek, I’m excited now. I love buying presents and I
can’t wait to see what he’s got me – watch this space,
the excitement could be short lived!
