CHARITY
TREKKERS WANTED
FOR CHARITY CHALLENGE
Adventurous fundraisers are wanted to sign up to a trekking challenge to
support Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
In June 2015, a group of volunteers will be
climbing Ben Nevis as part of the annual Demelza
101 challenge. The charity already has 64 people
signed up and willing to join the trek, but with a
capacity of 100 participants, there is room for
more to come together and support the cause.
In 2014, the popular event saw a team cycle
from Sittingbourne to Paris; however, 2015 boasts
the first ever Demelza 101 trekking team.
Herne Bay resident, Mette Mewett, has put her
name down along with her friend, Louise
Kjaertinge.
Caring for a life-limited child can feel like a daily
uphill struggle. By taking on the challenge of Ben
Nevis, you will enable Demelza – which relies
almost entirely on fundraising, donations, and
gifts in wills – to help hundreds of families deal
with the highs and the lows.
Don't miss out – there's only 100 places!
Mette's daughter, Anna, was diagnosed with
bone cancer at just four years old, and while she
is remission now, she has had to endure several
operations on her leg during the five years since
finding out she had the disease.
If you would like to find out mor about Demelza's
e
101 challenge, or to sign up, call Emma Austen
on 01795 845249 or email
[email protected].
During that time, Demelza’s hospice in
Sittingbourne has provided Anna and her family
with support and respite in a home-from-home
safe and welcoming environment.
