EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH Homewood School The ethos at Homewood School is based on ‘Learning, Respect, Belonging’ – three concepts which encompass everything Homewood represents. Mutual respect is at the heart of the school’s ethos and this is reflected in the relationship between dedicated staff and students. Homewood is a school where every student is valued whatever their age or ability. It has a beautiful site and is proud to make its excellent facilities available to the community. It has state of the art conference facilities and provides a range of different services to local people, schools and businesses. Homewood is delighted to be part of the Tenterden Rural Alliance, a collaboration of local schools who enjoy working alongside one another to provide the best possible learning and training opportunities for the staff and students in all their schools. Homewood School has a history of qualification success and has been praised by Ofsted for providing a breadth and depth of course provision to enable students to move into employment, training and higher and further education. It has an excellent Sixth Form with above the national average for A-grades at A-level which is a testament to the ability to expect and achieve high standards from Homewood’s students. From September 2014 an exciting new college structure begins. Years 7 and 8 will belong to the Key Stage 3 ‘Discovery College’. From Year 9 students will then move into 4 colleges depending on their chosen option choices: “Enterprise College”, “Arts College”, “World College” and “I-College”. Following its successful Ofsted inspection in September 2012 when the inspection team graded Homewood “Good” in every category, the school has continued to go from strength to strength and has achieved its best ever examination results in 2013 at GCSE and A-level. Homewood School holds accreditation for Advanced Extended Services, Gold Artsmark and the Equality Mark and was recently named “School of the Year 2014” by the Whole Education network. Homewood School is proud to be an innovative and creative school. It has a wide network of partnerships including the Innovation Unit, Whole Education, Learners Cloud and a range of technology companies and local businesses. www.homewood-school.co.uk 144
