If you are looking for a burger review, and are disappointed with my pulled pork choice, I can confirm that the burgers are equally amazing. I know this because my fellow diners went for the burger of the week, a truffle burger, which comprised of white truffle butter, wild mushrooms, Emmental cheese, and rosemary mayonnaise; and The Emmentalist, a mixture of Emmental cheese, crispy candied bacon, a giant mushroom, shredded lettuce, and beef tomato. All of their burgers are made with beef from local Kent butcher, Watson Neal and Sons, and come served in a toasted brioche bun with homemade chips. Illustration is the most popular work covering Googies' walls, although soon they will be potentially exhibiting black and white photos from all over the world, thanks to edgy street photographer, Walter Rothwell. El Davo is always looking for new and exciting local artists for the walls of the art café, and is learning to balance promoting the artists with his own illustration work. As part of Folkestone Triennial, he is hoping to successfully pitch to create another mural – yet this time on the walls of the seaside town’s streets. © Dan Catt © Sam Giles Googies Art Cafe 15 Rendezvous Street Folkestone CT20 1EY 01303 246188 www.googies.co.uk © Laura Foote JOIN US FOR THE FESTIVAL OF FOOD AT HOLWOODSHOP COFFEE FARM THE VERY BEST LOCAL & REGIONAL SPECIALITIES Sunday 8th June 10.00am – 4.00pm Holwood Farm Shop & Coffee Shop, Yellow Barn, New Road Hill, Keston, Kent, BR2 6AB Call 01689 638 381 L SEASONA LOCAL ARTISAN For the latest visit www.HolwoodFarm.co.uk Follow us @HolwoodFarm #HFFoodFest 71
