In commemoration of the First World War's
centenary this August, Godinton House and
Gardens has launched new exhibition, Letters
from the Front. Officially opened on 11th April,
the display features a remarkable collection of
over 2,000 pages of letters written by troops in
thanks to the village of Great Chart for sending
over 1,600 parcels during the war. Together with
photographs and records of men who worked
at Godinton, this fascinating exhibition is well
worth a visit. There will also be a collection for
ABF The Soldiers' Charity throughout the season.
1pm-6pm daily. Price: Adults £8, house &
gardens; £5 gardens only. Under 16's go free.

Featuring recent photographs
relating to the seaside, La Mer is an
exciting solo exhibition fronted by
Liz Garnett. While her stunning
photographs of shells, sea urchins
and starfish are a far cry from
traditional still life photography, Liz
also explores the use of unusual
colours by challenging the use of
traditional film photography. A Kent
resident, Liz cannot imagine living more than 20 minutes from the sea; she
has been a photographer for over 20 years and her work is in private and
public collections worldwide.
