CHILDREN'S CHARITY, CHYPS, LAUNCHES NEW CHARITY SHOP
Shoppers in Tunbridge Wells can snap up feelgood bargains at a new charity shop that is
raising funds for Kent’s only children’s hospice
at home.
Crowds flocked to the chYps Children’s
Hospice at Home store on 20th March to see
TV star Alison Chapman and Kent sculptor Guy
Portelli officially open Camden Road’s newest
addition.
Queen of the dealers, Alison, who is a
regular on Dickinson’s Real Deal and Secret
Dealers, said: “I was delighted to open the shop
and create awareness of this fantastic charity. I
love nothing more than seeking out deals, and
this shop offers must-have fashion bargains.
People can shop guilt-free, knowing their money
will help chYps to care for seriously ill children
living locally.”
olunteers from corporate supporter Berkeley
V
Homes handed out canapés and fizz to
customers, and celebrations rolled on into the
evening with a special networking event
for Kent businesspeople.
Peter Smith, managing director of Berkeley
Homes (Eastern counties), said: “The care and
support that chYps gives to families is hugely
beneficial. We hope this new high street presence
will assist in raising the necessary funds to enable
them to continue with the fantastic support they
provide.”
Money raised from sales at the shop will
help chYps to provide cancer, respite and end-
