EDUCATION
IN ASSOCIATION WITH
Excellence as standard
Following their inspection in November 2013, Sutton Valence Preparatory
School (SVPS) is delighted that the report has rated the school as
‘excellent’ in every category.
Said Malcolm Gough, Head: “I’m very pleased that what we do for our
pupils has been so comprehensively endorsed.”
provide the perfect setting for extending pupils’ learning. By developing
and instilling independent thinking, the curriculum allows all to become
more confident and to think broadly and outside of the box.
SVPS takes children from age 3 into Nursery, where firm foundations for
learning, confidence and independence are built and a seamless journey
into Reception and on to Year 6 is provided. Children are very well prepared
for the 11+ (which was recognised by the inspectors), for entry into the
senior school, Sutton Valence, or other secondary schools.
The School is a strong community, caring and, crucially, a place where
children are happy. With traditional values, clear guidelines and a downto-earth attitude childhood is preserved, yet high expectations for achievement
and effort in and out of the classroom remain.
Academically, a strength is to add value to a child’s potential, not only to
achieve those results that parents would like, but also to prepare them so
that they are up and running for their new school as confident, articulate
and well-positioned to move with success towards GCSE, A Level and
beyond.
