Where to eat and drink
When it comes to eating out in Bruges, there is
no doubt you will be spoilt for choice. If you are
looking for a spot of fine dining, Michelin-starred
eateries Quatre Mains, Lieven and Le Mystique
are destination restaurants, or if you fancy classic
Belgian cuisine, head for Park Restaurant, Pro
Deo or the quirky Pomperlut.
Of course, with Bruges comes fantastic
cafés, waffle and beer houses, most of which
stock at least 20 beer varieties. With that in mind,
seek out Craenenburg, ‘t Brugs Beertje and
Poatersgat—a characterful list of popular venues
that are well worth dropping into.
Finally, we couldn't go without a mention
of the city's love of chocolate. Acting as a
chocolate laboratory, Bruges has more than 50
fabulous passionate chocolatiers. Look out for
The Chocolate Line, Roose Chocolaterie and 't
Begijntje Chocolaterie.
How to get around
The centre of Bruges is compact and filled with
pedestrians-only streets, which means walking
is the best way to get around. However, if your
feet get tired of the cobbles, why not book a
horse-drawn carriage ride along Bruges' historic
winding streets? Or a round trip along the canals?
