WEDDINGS 12 creative ways to Pop the Question 1. Take out a full-page advert in your local newspaper or magazine, and include a picture of the two of you, an ‘article’ about your relationship, and the headline ‘Will You Marry Me?’ 2. Hire a Flash Mob. Whether it happens on the train to work, in a supermarket or in the street, this will be a proposal that you, and the general public, would never forget. 3. Upload a video of your proposal to YouTube, and tell your other half they just have to see the hilarious video someone showed you at work. 4. If you both have a bit of daredevil in you, why not book a skydiving experience, and set up a giant sign at the land site that says ‘Marry Me’. 5. You know those silly photos you can buy after going on a roller coaster? Take a trip to an amusement park with some friends, and make sure you’re all in the same roller coaster car (with you and your friends in the back). When you know the camera will take your picture, hold up signs saying ‘Will You Marry Me’, so when you go to look at your ridiculous faces after the ride, you can get on one knee! 6. Put your proposal into a fortune cookie, and either at home or a restaurant, surprise your other half with the fortune of a lifetime. 7. If you have plans to get engaged in the autumn, have a pumpkin-carving competition with your other half. The one and only rule: no peeking at 58 each other’s pumpkins until they’re finished. You’ll definitely win the prize with your design of ‘Marry me?’ 8. Plan a birthday scavenger hunt, with clues leading to your favourite places, ending at your favourite or most special spot. The last clue for the big birthday surprise will reveal your proposal. 9. Buy glow star stickers (Amazon) and write ‘Will You Marry Me’ above the bed – just make sure the ring is ready when the lights go out! 10. Getting a pet together is one of the first major commitments a couple can make together, so double the excitement by tying the engagement ring around your new pet’s collar when you bring your furry friend home. 11. Create a proposal that you can view as often as you like for years to come. Put together a scrapbook of your memories including pictures, ticket/travel stubs, menus, notes and experiences. On the last page, put the words ‘Will You Marry Me?’ with space for one last photo – the photo you’ll take right after your proposal there and then! 12. While on a beach holiday, either sneak out yourself, or recruit some help from the hotel to write ‘Will You Marry Me’ in the sand on a secluded beach. Go for a romantic stroll together, and stumble across this unique proposal.
