DEMELZA STAFF TREATED TO A NIGHT OUT
AT HAPPY DAYS WITH CHERYL BAKER
On Monday 13th January the staff of Demelza
Hospice were treated to a night out at Churchill
Theatre, Bromley to watch the brand new musical,
Happy Days.
The team also got to meet a big supporter
of the Kent-based charity, Cheryl Baker, who is
playing the role of Mrs Cunningham in the show.
Not only did they have their picture taken with
her on the stage and amongst the set, the staff
even had their programmes signed by the iconic
star.
Demelza Hospice supports children and
young people between 0-19 years who are not
expected to reach adulthood, while also offering
support to their families.
Demelza tweeted after the show: “Great
fun seeing Demelza Patron Cheryl Baker at The
Churchill Theatre in Happy Days. We are still
singing, thank you!”
The Churchill Theatre have been supporting
Demelza Hospice since the summer of 2013 and
will continue to do so for the foreseeable future,
via various different fundraising events.
A Kent resident herself, Cheryl Baker is a
big supporter of the charity and ran the London
Marathon for them in 2013.
A sure-fire hit, Happy Days: A New Musical
is written by Garry Marshall, the legendary creator
of the television series, and includes 21 of the
original Happy Days songs by Oscar, Grammy
and Golden Globe award-winning songwriter,

Paul Williams. The show also contains the muchloved Happy Days theme song from the TV show.
Henry Winkler, the original Fonz from the
television series serves as creative consultant,
working alongside the director in creating the
Happy Days world of 1959 America and guiding
the cast.
Also starring in the show is Heidi Range as
Pinky Tuscadero and Ben Freeman as The Fonz.
On 15th January, Happy Days celebrated 40
years since the television show first aired.
