When did you write your first book?
I finished my first book, Raising the Roof, in 1998
but it didn't come out until 2001.
Tell us a little about that process.
Writing a book is hard work and I never seem to
feel any less daunted when I sit down at that
blank screen to begin a new one. It's a wonderful
high when it's all finished though, and a massive
thrill when one is holding the final book in one's
hands.
Who or what inspires you when it comes to
writing?
Real life inspires me. I have written about pretty
much everything that's ever happened to me!
What's next for you?
My new book, 100 Ways to Fight the Flab, is out
this month and I am in talks about making a TV
series. The pilot is available to watch on
www.wannabeawritertvshow.com.
What's the dream?
To feature in The Sunday Times Bestseller lists,
make the TV show, have a column in a national
newspaper...any of those would do.
What would be your number one tip for a
budding author?
Marry someone rich!
