EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH Ashford School It’s been another year of excellent A Level results for Ashford School students with 84 graded A*-B - and the Michaelmas term will see excitement of its own... In September Prep and Senior students will be celebrating the opening of the brand new Sports Centre which has been built next to the existing Astroturf. The centre is a much-anticipated facility which will ensure the British weather doesn’t defeat sporting efforts. Students will continue to use the Dance and Fitness Suites in the existing Sports Halls, as well as the extensive grounds on both sites. In October, the school will be of?cially declared All-Steinway as they welcome a ?eet of brand new Steinway pianos. The development will mean that the students have the very best instruments to play and practise on. The Prep School will be welcoming its new intake of Nursery pupils who will be joining an “Outstanding” Nursery. In May, a team of ISI inspectors declared the Early Years Provision Outstanding in every category. They spent time interviewing parents, staff and observing children as well as looking at all the school systems and policies in the pre-Nursery (Bridge), Nursery and Reception. The report they produced (which is available on the school’s website) is full of positive comments praising the school, staff and learning environment. It says, “The overall quality and standards of the EYFS are outstanding. Babies and children make excellent progress.” Bridge House caters for babies and toddlers and is located at the East Hill site. At the age of three, children move across to the Great Chart site to join the Nursery.
