EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH New Headmaster for Marlborough House School September 2013 marks the beginning of a new era for Marlborough House when Mr Martyn Ward, takes over the leadership of the school following the retirement of Mr David Hopkins after 18 years as Headmaster. Mr Ward joins Marlborough House from St Andrew’s School, a co-ed Prep School in Eastbourne where he has been Deputy Headmaster. With two young daughters of his own, Mr Ward has spoken of his delight at joining such a happy and successful school. “When I first visited Marlborough House I was struck by the warm welcome that I received — all of which gives me an understanding of what is meant when I hear about the very special atmosphere at Marlborough House. MHS’s core values will not change; they are what attracted me to the school and they are fundamental to forming young people to be proud of.” At Marlborough House School, happy children succeed. We believe in high expectations, the value of knowing each child as an individual and providing a breadth of experiences, but above all, our commitment is to making sure the children here are happy, because only then can they achieve their goals. Our pupils undoubtedly achieve fantastic results, but most importantly, they don’t take the opportunities they have for granted. Experiences at Marlborough House form young people who are self-assured, articulate and well-rounded individuals. It comes down to being happy; they are happy in their friendships and happy in their own skins. We would like to invite you to visit us and see our school in action. We have recently opened our new pre-prep building and would be delighted to show you around. Please contact Fiona Wooley, on 01580 753555 to make an appointment or request a prospectus. Our next open morning is on Thursday 3rd October from 10am - 12noon. www.marlboroughhouseschool.co.uk www.insidekentmagazine.co.uk 39
