For four days only, the streets, gardens, riverbanks, cafés and theatres in and around the city centre will come alive, buzzing with activities for adults and children alike. Setting up shop in The Woodville's main auditorium this September, there is certainly enough room to swing a cat and of course house an abundance of fantastic vintage-laden stalls. From vintage clothing to retro accessory collections, this Kentish fair is an easy rival to the renowned sites in the capital — yet whilst retaining the charm of the local community. And it's not all shop 'til you drop; the fair on the 14th features live music from vocal trio, My Favourite Things, a vintage tearoom serving homemade tea and cake and a fabulous mini beauty parlour for a spot of apt makeup and hair styling. Showing what life would have been like on the home front, this year's festival boasts 1940's fashion, vintage vehicles and hundreds of re-enactors, home front displays and military camps. The Evacuee Reunion Association will also be joining the festival to share their wartime experiences. There will be tea and cakes from Dotty's Delights and weekend performances from The Swingtime Sweethearts, The Haywood Sisters, Miss Vintage and The SuzieQs. Two of the South East's most popular vintage fairs, Monica's and Penny's Lane Vintage, will also be making their 'vintage heaven' debut to sell their fantastic mix of eclectic vintage and retro clothing, accessories and homeware.
