Melissa tells me of some charming, memorable engagement proposals that have occurred at the Castle. “Think of a woman standing on the second floor outdoor balcony and her “prince” driving up in shining armor, sitting on an open convertible top to propose…it has happened! And, by the way, she said “Yes!”” says Melissa.
During weddings, the bride sparkles in a full-length mirror with diamond dust from Europe and castle rock. A two story original wooden staircase with a circular stained glass window is reflected behind the bride as she descends the stairs to begin her new life.
Melissa and Louie both meticulously assist the bride as wedding planners and officiates. Castle Marne’s Intimate Services in the Victorian Parlour accommodates 35 guests. The outdoor English Garden Arbor venue has grand white tents and pavilions in the garden, and on the front lawns.
The north lawn can accommodate receptions of up to 80 guests, also from June through October. The morning after each wedding, a delectable hot breakfast buffet is served in the formal Peacock Dining Room with Gleaming silver service sets, Victorian dishes and tea sets adorning the tables.
Offering nine individually designed suites with elegant and original Victorian style décor, fireplaces, plus in-room Jacuzzis with steaming hot tubs, and romantic balconies, this is a B&B to remember.
All rooms have AC, Wi-Fi, wired Internet, ceiling fans, a small library, alarm clocks with radios and lush bathrobes.
The Castle engages in a Green Guest Program which is a trademark of the castle which guests can sign up to participate in. Included in this program is re-usable water bottles and re-using bedding and towels if staying for a few evenings. They bought into a solar and wind farm which will soon take them 100 percent off the grid. They have triple composting, re-cycle all glass, water and plastics and use energy efficient light bulbs.
