Partners The Park is funded solely by Brunel University .
History and Objectives It had been the intention of the University to set up a Science Park since the University obtained its Charter in 1966 . The Science Park eventually opened in 1982 and became the first University-based Science Park in the UK . The Science Park ’ s objective is to foster collaboration with industry wherever possible and the U niversity is mainly interested in tenants where future collaboration can be foreseen .
Premises The Science Park is situated on approximately three acres on the University Campus in Uxbridge , West London . Just 15 miles from the centre of London and 4 miles from Heathrow Airport . Excellent location for all major road links as the campus is within a 4 mile radius of the M4 , M40 and M25 motorways .
Phase I : Russell Building This consists of one building which has been subdivided to tenants ’ requirements . It includes high quality laboratory space . The rent charge is negotiable according to length of lease and area of unit with £ 4.30 per square foot service charge per annum . Leases are flexible and a postal address facility is available .
Key features of the building are :
• designated communal space that includes a seminar room and kitchen facility
• three-phase electrical supply
• car parking .
Phase II : Gardiner Building Consists of 1,200 square metres in one building , initially with four open areas . Incubator units of areas from 143 square feet have recently been created .
