Lincoln Boole Technology Centre will open in March 2017
An Innovative Heritage Lincoln ’ s southwest industrial quarter has been at the heart of the city ’ s prosperity for more than 150 years . Not only was it at the forefront of industrial plant development -it can claim to be the home of the original tank before WW1- by the middle of the Twentieth Century , it boasted Europe ’ s largest foundry .
Lincoln Science and Innovation Park ( LSIP ) has been tasked by its founders , the University of Lincoln and the Lincolnshire Co-op , with reinvigorating this site as an engine of industry driven by science , technology and innovation .
LSIP combines existing infrastructure like the Think Tank innovation centre with new developments to house academic scientific research as well as commercial analysis laboratories and high-quality space for innovation intensive firms .
LSIPs Phase 1 development opened in autumn 2014 with a total of 12 hectares planned for development over the next decade . The site combines the repurposed red-brick industrial architecture that is the legacy of the site ’ s past with newly sculpted parkland and cutting edge modern design .
Think Tank The Think Tank is a strikingly designed innovation centre providing managed offices and workspaces for small and medium firms . With 30 hi-tech , energy efficient offices and workspaces ranging from 430 – 1250 sqft , Think Tank is able to offer ideal space for early stage and growth firms on a very flexible basis . It also features a range of conference rooms , informal break out areas and meeting pods .
Joseph Banks Laboratory LSIP boasts of strong links to the University of Lincoln , whose main campus is located adjacent to the Park . Not only is the Park providing a home to the University ’ s College of Science in the 75,000 sqft Joseph Banks Laboratories , it also provides an integrated link into the University ’ s analytical service , the Siemens Engineering School , the Sparkhouse Incubator and a wealth of technologies available to the private sector .
Boole Technology Centre LSIP is developing a new kind of grow-on space ; the Boole Technology Centre provides highly flexible multi-occupancy premises for growing technology businesses . It offers the same level of customer service and common working areas as a traditional innovation centre but with the ability to carve off independent demises with private entrances and high levels of privacy . The 30,000 sq ft of building will allow laboratories and offices to be accommodated in units ranging from 400 sqft to 15,000 sqft . Construction commenced in February 2016 and the building will be open in March 2017 .
Sparkhouse : Incubation Sparkhouse , the University of Lincoln ’ s business incubation centre , is home to creative , innovative and technology-based start-ups . Over the last twelve years more than 300 new businesses have benefitted from the centre ’ s expertise . Sparkhouse has grown its reputation and is recognised as a catalyst for business start-up and knowledge transfer activity within the region .

Conferences and Meetings LSIP ’ s large , light and airy conference rooms can accommodate up to 60 people in a theatre style or smaller numbers in various room layouts . Included in the room rate is access to a substantial ‘ break-out ’ area along with an open roof terrace . Rooms are equipped with stateof-the-art equipment and catering is available on request .
Community and Support LSIP is committed to creating the most dynamic destination or businesses in Lincoln .
