UKSPA Website The UKSPA website ( at www . ukspa . org . uk ) provides access to the latest news from the Association , members and tenant companies . The site has been developed to provide greater marketing and promotional opportunities for UKSPA Members and increased interactivity . Services available through the website include :
• Property : delivering available laboratory and innovation space that is available
• expanded news from parks and tenants
• consolidating all content ( news , property and events ) from individual parks onto their own profile pages
• Providing information on current UKSPA initiatives such as UKSPA CLARITY . The Inspire and Aspire Quality initiatives as well as the UKSPA Leadership Diploma for Science Park Managers and the Inspire Certificate in Business Incubation Management .
The new UKSPA website provides a simpler , more attractive , content rich website .
UKSPA Social Networking For the latest daily news and information from UKSPA follow our twitter account @ UKSPA . With around 1350 followers , UKSPA tweets provide access to the latest UKSPA news and activities as well as information from UKSPA members and the wider Science , Innovation and Incubation world .
UKSPA Events Our Members ’ Meetings take place three times each year - usually in January , May and September . Members can come to these two day events for free . Guests are very welcome to attend for approximately £ 190 , which includes two days of presentations , workshops and networking opportunities , plus dinner on the first evening .
Members ’ events provide a mix of small workshops and plenary sessions and offer a programme of networking opportunities as well as social events . They provide the perfect arena for informal discussion as well as the sharing of new ideas and best practice .

UKSPA Conferences As well as the regular programme of Members ’ Meetings , the Association periodically organises occasional themed Conferences and this included the UKSPA 30th Anniversary Conference in Birmingham ( July 2014 ).
This major event showcased the Science and Innovation Sector with contributions from the ( then ) Science Minister David Willetts , Opposition Science Minister Liam Byrne and leading figures such as Phil Smith , Chairman of Innovation UK , John Mather CEO of the Design Council and Professor Birgitte Andersen , Director of the Big Innovation Centre .
The UKSPA Open Innovation event in 2012 looked at the balance between collaboration and competition while the UKSPA “ Investment ” Conference in 2011 examined the changing innovation landscape in the UK . Information on all UKSPA events can be found on the the Association website .
UKSPA Publications As well as a range of Good Practice and Case Study Guides we have produced a new series of UKSPA Factsheets . The Association also publishes :
The Planning , Development and Operation of Science Parks , Third Edition
Published in 2006 , this is a completely revised and fully comprehensive third edition of the UK Science Park Association ’ s definitive guide to good practice in science park development and management .
Edited by Malcolm Parry OBE , Director of Surrey Research Park ( University of Surrey ) it offers insights and case studies which explore a broad range of topics and initiatives written by leading light practitioners in the science park movement .
