Introduction Knowledge Dock is a combined work , exhibition and teaching space offering dynamic environment for students , staff and businesses located at the University of East London ’ s ( UEL`s ) Docklands Campus . As a UEL business and innovation centre Knowledge Dock is the place for makers , innovators , inventors , networks and collaborators . It is available to our community of 19,000 students , inspiring academics and dedicated support staff spanning 120 different nationalities as well as external businesses engaging in collaboration with UEL innovation , research and development projects . Through civic engagement , we give students the chance to enhance their knowledge by learning off campus on real-life projects .
Our location Knowledge Dock is located at the University of East London ’ s ( UEL ’ s ) Docklands Campus . We have great connections to public transport , with Cyprus DLR station adjacent to our campus and on-site car parking facilities . We are also close to City Airport , providing you with a gateway to internationalize your business .

Soft Landing programme As a part of international innovation networks we developed a Soft Landing programme offering our entrepreneurs a chance to explore new markets . Through this programme , entrepreneurs can access offices abroad , receive support from a local team in your destination country and obtain market intelligence , all of which will open up international collaborations .
Events venue Our privileged riverside location at London Docklands attracts companies , institutes and NGOs to our fully serviced events venue suitable for 2-80 people .
Enterprise and Innovation at UEL Enterprise and Innovation Unit at UEL is responsible for Knowledge Dock management as well as enabling student enterprise by supporting students to develop their entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses .
We provide support from idea generation up to the early business stages through workshops , 1-to-1 sessions and competitions . Our strong business focus drives development of consultancy , knowledge transfer and research projects engaging businesses to collaborate with UEL academics .
We identify research and collaboration opportunities with businesses , government and community groups to promote high quality and innovative research carried out at UEL . Enterprise and Innovation Unit also manages UEL spin offs . One of them is FABPAD – a leading fabric print bureau offering a fast and friendly sampling service using reactive dyes and natural fibre fabrics such as silks and cottons . It ’ s professional and valuable service is available to students , independent designers , fashion and textile studios , photographers and artists .
UEL ’ s Research UEL is an innovative academic community , delivering high-quality research that is impactful , intellectually stimulating , socially relevant and for public good . UEL was rated the top modern university in
London for research by the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise ( RAE ) and is highly regarded for innovative research and scholarship across a wide range of fields .
