New co-working space for creatives at Surrey Research Park
Rocketdesk is an exciting new home for start-up game developers and other creative technology professionals . Based in the Surrey Technology Centre it is a new co-working space for creatives wanting to work alongside like-minded entrepreneurs , whether they are creating games on mobile , desktop or console , composing music , editing video or building websites .
The team that has set up the centre has experience working at the top level in games and media , alongside top players like Microsoft , Activision , BBC , Electronic Arts and Apple .
The open-plan workspace is perfect for start-up developers and small teams who perhaps want to take the next step and commercialise their dreams . If a developer doesn ’ t know how to optimise a graphics engine , or write an employment contract , or find a good accountant , somebody in the Rocketdesk community almost certainly will .
Rocketdesk members have a permanent desk space in a highquality , air-conditioned office with very high speed broadband Internet access and benefit from being surrounded by a community of skilled industry professionals . There is access to a shared pool of mobile test devices ( Android , iOS , Apple TV , Windows Phone , BlackBerry etc .) and build machines ( Windows , Mac , Linux ) to deploy multi-platform projects .
Members have use of the Park ’ s reception desk to welcome visitors , accept mail and take calls and a there is a shared pool of “ day passes ”, allowing their contractors to occasionally work from the studio ( dependent on availability ) and take advantage of the high-quality meeting rooms at an additional cost . Desk spaces are available on a month-by-month rolling contract .
