Adam Rose, a custom tattoo artist since 2005 has always
enjoyed various forms of art in addition to tattooing. When
he discovered he could tattoo leather, a new world of
opportunities opened up to him and his artistic craft. He
reached out to American Hat Makers - Head’n Home
Hats, a company he was familiar with through
Hannah Watrous—a friend he grew up with—to
see if they would be interested in sewing some
of the leather scraps he tattooed onto a
hat. Due to potential for massive orders,
this approach wouldn’t quite work.
A few months later, they contacted
Rose to see if he could draw the
designs to be incorporated into their
hats. “Each hat is hand airbrushed
and handmade in America. [With my
designs] they run it through a machine
that laser etches my artwork into it,
handstitch it, put all the bells and whistles
