hold big names, the main stage holds your larger acts as the two
side stages keep an audience interested in more of a local scene.
to the envious, all showcasing an unforgettable moment in music
history.
Opener, Kozah, an energetic and dynamic young producer and
DJ from Greece is definitely one to keep an eye out for. Ecotek,
still ahead of his time, killed it. At night one’s peek, Flosstradamus
summoned the Hdynation and brought the right sound to get the
crowd crazy. Pegboard Nerds got wild and showed us that the
nerds come out at night. Seven Lions and Above and Beyond were
as epic as ever. It was only the first of three nights and it was nothing less than a night to remember.
As Sunday marked the last day of the epic event, you could see
that some of the attending already partied two nights prior, a
certain level of exhaustion had fallen over them. Looking at them,
one couldn’t help but wonder if they would even be able to muster
up enough energy to make it through a third night. But before
you could even try to unwire that question, the bass line hit and a
newfound level of life washed over them. It was back to the same
shenanigans, breakdancing, heads bopping, and irreversible
smiles. On this night, all cares were washed away. Red Rocks was
the center of the universe. Green Velvet smashed the audience. Kill
the Noise did what he always does and melted faces. The set from
Benny Benassi had the crowd singing along with one of the many
classic songs played by such a great producer. And what better
way to close the curtain on a such a monumental event than an
almost two hour set from one of EDM’s most beloved DJs, Tiesto. It
was truly a night for the books.
As the second night of the festival began, the booming continued and as before, the excited party people came bellowing in.
Breakout producer, Illenium was definitely a highlight of the day. On
this night, we were blessed with DJ Fury and MC Dino, back-toback as always, showing us that even an opening act is hard to
follow. It was a great start to a massive second night. As the night
progressed and the sun came down, we witnessed some classic
tunes from Doctor P, followed by a huge and unforgettable set from
Datsik. As they played, the wall of bodies bounced and waved their
fists in satisfaction. And of course, what better way to close out the
evening than showcase one of EDM’s legends, KASKADE, who
as always, played with a passion that only he could. The crowd left
with a certain level of amazement on their faces, hurrying quickly to
their nearest mobile device. Tweets and statuses quickly went out

Thirteen years of Global Dance Festivals, and by the feel of things,
thirteen years young. With such an amazing line up this year, one
has to ask how could they possibly top this next year? But like the
year before, they always do. Here is to another magical year of epic
Colorado EDM. And like Triad Dragons, once told me, “keep calm
and Global Dance on.”
