What do you think a client should expect from you as a tattoo artist, and what do you, on the other hand expect from a client to make a successful tattoo and a good collaboration? You achieve the best result when there is a connection between the artist and the customer. If the customer approaches me with an open mind, I can channel the idea into a tattoo; of course the key is talking about details, which makes me create through drawing something special, even if the idea is very simple. Describe how you go about creating a tattoo from concept to finished design. And also describe how you try to put your own unique touch on your tattoos? I start developing the idea on paper, getting inspired by a lot of different sources that always had an impact on my style. How would you describe your style? And which tattoo styles do you like best? Talking about styles, I’m not sure where to place what I do, clearly the new school mark is predominant, but there’s also some elements of neo-traditional and illustration. What is the most interesting tattoo you have been asked to do? I wouldn’t easily point out the most interesting work I’ve done so far. The ones I remember better are those 20 InkSpiredMagazine.com that stimulated my creativity and gave me a lot of space to express. What criteria do you think that a tattoo convention shall have to be really successful, both for you as a tattoo art ist, but also for the visitors? Can you give some examples of conventions that meet these criteria really well? As for the tattoo conventions, what I like the most on these expos is the number of artists and the variety of styles offered. How would you describe the current status of tattoos by the general public in your country? In Italy, there’s a vibrant growing tattoo scene, even if it’s not always about passion, business and superficiality take over sometimes. How has the tattooing industry changed, in your opinion, since shows like LA, NY, MIAMI and LONDON INK have been broadcasted to the nation? Even TV shows like LA INK, MIAMI INK, and so on had an influence, not sure if positive or not, but somehow, has contributed to “educate” people and made them closer to what is the world of tattoos today. www.Facebook.com/critatts www.Facebook.com/CristianRestivoTatts www.facebook.com/AbnormalTattoo
