PIPPIN

Not Just a Reading of the Lines

Every year, the TA players put on an impressive set of shows that attract not only students and faculty members, but also countless members of the community. For all six showings of Pippin (packed into one busy week), the Harry P. Garland Auditorium was sold out to an audience seeking a great show. With amazing dance work, vocals, and enthusiastic acting combined, it is pretty hard to believe that this was anything short of a professional Broadway production!

The performers always strive for excellence, and fascinated their audience with dazzling and unique costumes and intriguing scenery. Not simply interested in just reciting lines, but striving to entertain the audience to the best of their abilitites, the players attended The Breakwater school in Portland, where they learned how to balance in hoops and climb through the "silks." It is the kind of dedication that was yet again rewarded by rave reviews and sold-out tickets.
