A Night of Fine Arts
Gill Hall Elementary hosted their first “ Night of Fine Arts ” on Thursday , February
9 , 2017 . It was an elegant evening of music , food and fine art for students and their families modeled after an art exhibit at a fine art gallery or museum . There were musical performances by the school ’ s band , orchestra and choir in the banquet hall ( cafeteria ), and the gymnasium was transformed into a grand ballroom housing a gallery of student art as well as a make-and-take craft area . All Gill Hall students in grades 1-5 had a piece of artwork on display for guests to view . Thomas Jefferson High School Student Council and Interact Club members volunteered their time in the craft area where they assisted guests in a variety of fun art activities . Guests were able to enjoy an assortment of beautifully prepared snacks and appetizers as they listened to the performances and viewed the artwork . It was truly a wonderful evening of art appreciation . Thank you to Gill Hall art teacher Mrs . Aly Bowser for organizing the event , all of the music teachers including Mrs . Meyers , Ms . Testa and Mrs . Davis , the Gill Hall PTA for providing all of the refreshments , and all of the staff for their time and dedication to make the event a success !
