PHMS Students and Staff focus on CPR Certification
Thanks to the efforts of Baldwin EMS , CPR trainings were provided to all Pleasant Hills Middle School students and staff who made it a priority to have the life-saving certification . Over 160 middle school students stayed after school to complete the CPR course . Eight members of the Baldwin EMS led by Chief Todd Plunkett worked with students on the basics of CPR and using an AED apparatus . Staff members of PHMS completed the CPR training during an in-service day on February 10 . The staff also completed a training provided by UPMC personnel entitled , “ Stop the Bleed .” " Stop the Bleed " is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives . The program is supported by the Department of Homeland Security . The goal is to train bystanders to take simple steps to help keep the injured alive during emergency situations . We also would like to thank School Resource Officer , Ron Porupsky , for initiating these life-saving trainings for our staff and students .
