National Tunnel Race and 2K Family Fun Walk Date: April 23 Time: 9:15 a.m. Address: Cecil Park, 3655 Millers Run Road, Cecil Contact: montourtrail.org Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Montour Trail at this race/walk that benefits Montour Trail maintenance and development. The 10K and 5K race starts on the trail at the top of the access path from Cecil Park to the Trail and heads east toward National Tunnel. The 10K run goes through the National Tunnel, with the turnaround about a half-mile east of the tunnel portal. The 5K race turnaround is prior to the tunnel. The 2K Family Fun walk also starts on the trail at the top of the Cecil Park access path and heads west continuing to a turnaround past the Rt. 50 & 980 bridge. After the event, a lunch is served along with beer, sports drinks and water and the first 700 registered participants will receive an event shirt. Relay For Life of Mt. Many visitors bring their own telescopes to take advantage of viewing conditions at the site. Others use the occasion simply to view the stars and planets with their own eyes.
