Great American
Clean Up Day.
Peters Township’s Annual Great American Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday,
April 22. This event is part of the larger “Keep America Beautiful Campaign”— a collective
of programs and resources to help end littering, increase recycling efforts and beautify
America’s communities. Volunteers will meet on April 22 in the Recreation Center at
9 a.m. You will be provided with a designated clean up location, garbage bags, gloves and
a safety vest. Sign up to volunteer at peterstownship.com, or simply meet at 9 a.m. at the
Recreation Center. Signups are encouraged but not required—we welcome everyone who
wants to volunteer that morning! Please join us in keeping Peters Township beautiful!
Spring Recycling
Event
Recycling of the following items will
be available to residents during the
Peters Township’s Great American Clean
Up Day on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m.
to Noon at the Public Works Facility,
located at 750 Bebout Road:
- Automotive batteries, scrap metal
and electronic items such as
televisions, computers and
monitors are accepted free
of charge.
- Tires will be accepted at a charge
of $3 each
Don’t have any use for that old bicycle
in your garage? Bring it to Public
Works. Volunteer cycle enthusiasts,
led by Bill Shader, will examine it,
repair it and see that it is donated to
someone less fortunate in need of a
bicycle. Bicycles are donated to the City
Mission, Washington County Food Bank
and the Brothers Brothers Foundation.
Approximately 1,000 bicycles have been
repaired and donated over the course of
the program. Bicycles may be dropped
off to Public Works prior to April 22
during normal business hours or during
the collection event itself.
