The Norwin High School Theatre Company is excited to announce Singin ’ in the Rain . Movie musical Singin ’ in the Rain , beloved since the moment it premiered , “ pours ” down delight , capturing the waning days of the silent screen era as they give way to new-fangled “ talkies .”

The " Greatest Movie Musical of All Time " is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends , Betty Comden and Adolph Green , from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin ' in the Rain . Singin ' in the Rain includes some of the best-loved comedy routines , dance numbers , and love songs ever written , including “ Good Mornin ’,” “ Make ‘ em Laugh ,” and of course the show-stopping dance number , “ Singin ’ in the Rain ,” complete with an onstage rainstorm !
Hilarious situations , snappy dialogue and a hit parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin ' in the Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals .
The production consists of about 90 students and crew members and is sure to be a delightful show for all ages . Lauren Scheirer is the Co-Director / Producer and Erin Shrader is the Co-Director / Choreographer . The Technical Director is Todd Leighty .
Performance dates are March 16-19 , 2017 ( Thursday- Saturday at 7:30 p . m . and Sunday at 2:30 p . m .) at the Norwin High School auditorium .

Norwin High School Students Selected to Perform with the Bands of America Honor Band in the 2017 Rose Parade

Four students from Norwin High School were selected by Music for All to perform in the Bands of America ( BOA ) Honor Band in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade , which was broadcast nationally on January 2 , 2017 .

The four Norwin students are senior clarinet Olivia Bazanos , daughter of Pete and Joann Bazanos ; junior tuba Tyler Swenson , son of Rob and Becky Swenson ; sophomore baritone saxophone Kate Heuer , daughter of Jonas & Kathleen Heuer ; and freshman mellophone Evan Murray , son of John and Patty Jo Murray .
Their band directors are Tim Daniels , Greg Ondayko , and Brandon Kandrack . They were selected from among hundreds of applicants across the nation for membership in this prestigious national honor band . The BOA Honor Band is a 300-piece national ensemble with winds , percussion and a flag and dance team . Bands of America is a program of Music for All ( MFA ), one of the nation ’ s largest and most influential organizations in support of active music making .
