MARSHALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HONORS VETERANS WITH BREAKFAST AND ASSEMBLY
More than 830 Marshall Elementary School ( MES ) students from kindergarten through fifth grade showed their gratitude to 65 veterans during a breakfast and assembly program on Veterans Day 2016 .
Organized by Parent Faculty Association board member Katie Rhoten , the assembly included music by the MES band , choir and orchestra , along with tribute speeches by the students .
“ It ’ s wonderful that this assembly not only brings the students together to honor the veterans , but brings together the entire community to honor them ,” said Marc Thornton , MES principal .
