As a school community , we continuously collaborate to make this vision of excellence a reality for our students . Our collective commitment and dedication to educational excellence continues to help us improve student learning and achievement .
The District significantly improved its overall ranking in SchoolDigger . Com to 26th in Pennsylvania . SchoolDigger . com evaluates and ranks districts across the nation based on a number of variables including performance . Newlonsburg Elementary ( 19 of 1551 ), Franklin Regional Middle School ( 50 of 861 ), and Franklin Regional Senior High School ( 22 of 647 ) are rated in the top 50 of these rankings .
The Franklin Regional Senior High School was recognized by Newsweek as one of the America ’ s top 500 high schools . The School Performance Profile , a measure used by the Pennsylvania Department of Education , ranks Franklin Regional Senior High School as third in Western Pennsylvania .
Heritage Elementary School was recognized as a Title I Reward School for High Progress in the 2015-2016 school year and was named as a Title I Distinguished School again in 2016-2017 . This designation signifies that Heritage Elementary is in the top 5 % of Title 1 schools in the Commonwealth because of its demonstrated growth and improvement in student achievement .
We are proud of the work that our students and teachers continue to do on a daily basis and look forward to their continued success ! Our success would not be possible without the support of our partners and the commitment of a dedicated staff .
The District , with support from the Franklin Regional School Board , formed the Franklin Regional Panther Foundation . The Foundation is a great resource for our District . Through this invaluable partnership , teachers and students are able to access innovative academic , artistic , and athletic programming not typical in many school systems . Our Foundation has a strong group of leaders who comprise our Board of Directors and value being able to raise funds that support the education of our children .
As part of supporting the District and Foundation , an athletic scoreboard sponsorship initiative raised over $ 625,000 in additional funds to date for the District and Franklin Regional Panther Foundation . The Foundation will host two annual events – the Festival of Arts in March to celebrate the fine and performing arts in Franklin Regional Schools and the community , and the Driving Excellence Golf Invitational scheduled for June .
Franklin Regional School District cultivated multiple partnerships aimed at improving student growth and achievement through the enhancement of classroom instructional practice . By working with Discovery Education , the District identified teachers in every building to serve as Digital Ambassadors and Digital Integrators . These teachers are receiving intensive professional development and coaching to support them in their meaningful integration of technology into classrooms .
Franklin Regional is a founding member of the Alle-Kiski Best Practices Collaborative , or ABC Create . This grant , funded by the Grable Foundation , is in its third year and provides collaboration and guidance to expand STREAM programming in the region . Through the partnership , Franklin Regional School District is directly connected with Carnegie Mellon University ’ s Create Lab , the Pennsylvania State University at New Kensington , and ASSET Stem Education . Franklin Regional has “ teacher advocates ” who have engaged in and provided professional development regarding specific technologies such as Gigapan cameras , Arts and Bots , Speck air quality monitoring , and water quality monitors .
